Japanese Knotweed is a major problem on development sites, near water courses and adjacent to roads and railways. Cleartrack has built up considerable expertise in the treatment of Japanese Knotweed as part of our vegetation management programmes. We calculate exact areas (m2) of Knotweed and distances from important environmental features such as water courses and rare plants that might be affected by spray drift. Examples of successful projects are at Everards Link (south London) and treatment along the West Coast Main Line. Lessons from our work show that it is important to provide long-term programmes with the monitoring of effective solutions otherwise effort is wasted on short-term ineffective management which builds up long term, and costly, problems.
