In addition to the arboricultural services that we provide for Jacobs on behalf of Kent County Council, we also carry out various vegetation works within Kent, as part of a Kent Highway Services 3D Soft Estate contract. Cleartrack work within three major districts - Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge and Malling and Sevenoaks. In each of these districts, we are responsible for undertaking regular ground maintenance works in public amenity areas.
Hedge Trimming
Hedgerows are a very prominent, functional and important landscape feature in the UK, supporting a wealth of wildlife. Cleartrack are responsible for maintaining over 20,000m of hedges in good condition and in perpetuity. Works on the hedges are predominantly carried out once a year in the winter months to create a long lasting, abundant hedgerow. We maintain the hedges at their optimum potential for landscape and environmental value. For a proportion of the hedges a tractor flail will be needed, as sometimes moving works is the more desirable option due to traffic on the roads or access to the hedge itself.
Weed Spraying
Cleartrack provide an excellent amenity weed control service at intervals of twice a year. We eradicate the weeds using chemicals from a range of bespoke utility vehicles or a versatile modular hand-held CDA (controlled droplet application) sprayer system. Health and safety requirements are kept to with the crew members wearing special spray suits and masks. The spraying is split into three main categories: kerb and channels, rear of footways and paved areas. Each of the units is equipped with the Masternaut tracking device. This allows an in-depth report to be run of the system to locate the roads that the unit has been along for the day. Such detailed reporting allows us to closely monitor the success of our treatments according to our Herbicide Reduction Program; in line with the EU Thematic Strategy.
